Operation Paperback collects gently used books and sends them to American troops deployed overseas. Since 1999, Operation Paperback has shipped over 950,000 books to locations around the globe.
Many of our troops are serving far from home and living in facilities that provide few of the comforts of home. At the end of each duty day, the opportunity to escape into a good book is welcomed.
Our troops make sacrifices every day for our country. Donating books for their enjoyment is a way to let them know that we appreciate what they are doing for us.
The books that are recommended are best-sellers, action and spy novels, mysteries, fantasy and science fiction, history (especially military history), and current event oriented nonfiction. Romance novels are not recommended.
Please bring the books to be donated to the Highland Rim District Meeting on August 29th. Donations to cover the cost of mailing will also be accepted.
