May flowers!

The District Meeting in Cookeville was fantastic! Many, many thanks to the Cookeville Junior Woman's Club for a superb gathering. Well done, ladies.

Now that May is here, most of the clubs in the district are winding down for the summer. Our district can look back at another successful year. Six of our student authors took home state awards in the Poetry and Short Story Contests. Two of our district writing award winners have had their youth entries sent on to Washington D.C. to be judged at the national level. What a wonderful statement that makes about Middle Tennessee and our historic championship of literacy. Imagine what we could do if every club participated in this program!

Not to be outdone by the youngsters, our district took first place in the Member Short Story Contest and second place in the Member Poetry Contest.

We have recorded a banner year in volunteer hours, money raised and programs supported. We have so much of which to be proud.

But most important of all, we have done it together. So have a wonderful summer, get rested and restored, and we'll hit the ground running in August.

Two reminders:
  • The district meeting in August is going to be a craft workshop for the spring fundraiser.
  • If you have elected new officers, please let the district and state presidents know ASAP.

HERE COMES SUMMER! LET THE GOOD TIMES ROLL!
