I haven't recovered from New Year's yet! How can it be that January is already OVER? Boy, those were the fastest 31 days I can remember! February is here, the dreariest month of the year, made brighter by all the REPORTS that must be in to the State by February 15th. I hope reporting isn't too big a chore for our clubs and that we make a very good showing at the April Spring Convention. Any questions? Contact me by phone or email and I will be happy to help.
OUR DISTRICT MEETING is scheduled for Saturday, April 4, at the Willow Avenue Church of Christ in Cookeville. We will be announcing the winner's of the Poetry and Short Story Contests and holding the Arts and Crafts contest for members. The women of our District are busy people and yet they produce fantastic works of art and craftmanship year after year. It is always humbling to see such talent and I am so looking forward to it this year. Members do not have to be present to win, so, Presidents, be ready to carry the entries for those who cannot attend to Cookeville. The District Contest is the only recognition offered by GFWC for Arts and Crafts. Make sure your talented members receive the recognition they deserve.
Here are the rules for the contest, which can be found in the GFWC of TN Handbook on page 17:
SPRING CONVENTION: The Spring Convention of the GFWC of Tennessee is scheduled for April 17-19 at the Cool Springs Marriott in Franklin, TN (see picture below). Just the thought of shopping alone has me raring to go! Get your dancing shoes ready, ladies, it's going to be a party!
